Premier Shehbaz Sharif travels to Turkey
PM Shehbaz travelled to Ankara for a two-day official visit to witness President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's inauguration.
ISLAMABAD: To attend President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's inauguration, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif travelled to Ankara for a two-day official visit.
The prime minister was welcomed by senior members of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and the Pakistani Mission in Turkey upon his arrival at Esenboga Airport in Ankara. Turkey on June 2, 2023.
PM Shehbaz was bid farewell by Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Paçaci as he departed for his two-day tour, according to the Prime Minister's Office.
The PM tweeted before leaving Islamabad, "Leaving for Türkiye today at the invitation of my brother, HE President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to attend his inauguration ceremony." In order to congratulate President Erdogan on winning the election, the prime minister said he would send him "warmest greetings" on behalf of the Pakistani government and populace.
In line with our common will and efforts, the fraternal connections between Pakistan and Turkey are expected to grow even more .With our shared resolve and destiny, he continued, "the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Turkey are set to deepen further." He continued by saying that although efforts were being made, both nations "have yet to fully realise the potential of our multifaceted relationship." He continued by saying that the upcoming 7th Meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Islamabad will "provide the right avenue to take the momentum" of both nations' "strategic partnership" further.
